Day 312, Getting ready for the Parade!

The city Centerville that I live in has a Kid parade for the 4th of July. It's a small parade that any kid who wants to be in it can be. They ride their bike, wagons, scooters and more down the streets of Centerville to the park, where after we watch a concert, and fireworks. This year Cameron and his friend Porter are going to be in it. So tonight, Cameron and his friend decorated a wagon that they will be riding in together, and after my family and I had a small picnic on the side of Scott and Sara's apartment.

Cameron is super excited to be in the parade, and for the 4th of July.

Sara and Scott made a really good dinner for us, and it was so much fun just to sit and relax on the blanket, and talk.. and get excited for the 4th of July this weekend!

Cute little Ali.

So tune in tomorrow to see what Cameron's wagon looks like. It's so cute, and we are all ready for the parade tomorrow night!

Day 311, When you wish upon a star......

I know it's childish, but Disneyland is still my favorite vacation spot. I'm the youngest in my family, and my siblings of moved on to bigger and better things, and they don't enjoy Disneyland like I do anymore. I still want to go there ever summer, but they want to try something new....which is also good... But I need my Disney!
I haven't been to Disneyland for 3 years! THREE YEARS PEOPLE! I'm home sick just thinking about it! I don't know what it is, but I just get so happy while I'm in or near Disneyland.
I have made it my goal to try and convince my dad to take me and the family to Disneyland sometime this year.. If not this summer. I would love to go before my blog challenge is up so that the trip can be in my blog book.... but who knows. I will try my best.
So far.. my dad is thinking about it, and trying to round up money. After the Chicago trip, we just don't have much money to do anything else.
I told him.. "If you need to just send me for the weekend all by myself. That I would be ok with it." I would be just fine running around Disneyland by myself... running a muck!
But we will see... just cross your fingers!

Day 310, Drive Inn theater

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to go to the Drive Inn movies. It's really cheap, you get 2 movies for 7 bucks! It's such a great deal! Plus the concessions stand is cheap too. But what I like to do is plan ahead, and bring your own food, treats, and drinks.
Well, Sarah and I have already been to the Drive Inn up in Ogden twice! It's so much fun, and I think it's actually better then a movie theater. The only bad thing is that the Drive Inn is so far away. I wish there was one closer to home.
The movies Sarah and I saw were.... Pirates 4, and Bridesmaids... Then Super 8 and Kung fo Panda 2
Pirates was really good, I'm not the biggest Pirates of the Caribbean fan, but this one I liked.
Bridesmaids was SO FUNNY!! If you haven't seen it, I say you should, I was laughing the entire time!
Super 8 was... interesting. I liked it, but I just don't think there was much of a story to it. They were just trying to figure out what the alien thing was the entire time.
And Kung fo Panda was really good. I love Kung fo Panda!
I wonder what we will see next at the Drive Inn. :)

Day 309, Swimming at Grandma's house

My mom bought a little kid pool at the store the other day, and Cameron came over and played in it today. He loves to swim. He kinda gets in his own little world when he's in the swimming pool.
He also loves squirt guns... but we call them squirt toys.

He also loves to splash... which isn't so much fun. HAHA..

Cameron spent about an hour to an hour and a half in the pool and was done. The water was really cold, so if it wasn't for that I bet he could have been in there all day.

So my friend Sarah made this rice crispy treat for Brian today. It think its the funniest thing ever, and it taste really good to! HAHA... Brian liked it as well. ;)

Day 308, Happy Birthday Brian!

Today is Brian's 24th Birthday. We didn't do much, but we did have a Sunday dinner, and sang Happy Birthday to him. It's weird to think that my family is all grown up! I mean I'm 18, and Brian's 24... We just keep getting older and older! Ah....

Look at Brian's HUGE Birthday cake. It was super good!

Cameron loves it when someone has a Birthday. It makes him so happy, and it makes the person who is having the birthday that much more happy also. He is just so cute!

He loves to help blow out the candels also!

HAPPY 24th BRIAN, I HOPE YOU HAD A GOOD ONE!!

Day 307, Getting to know you #5

I love to garden.

Ever since I was a kid, I loved to garden with my mom. Over the past few years, I actually have made my own vegetable gardens. I don't have that much room in my yard for the type of garden I would like, but you take what you can get. I love to plant, watermelon, pumpkins, tomatoes, and more. I just like to grow them though... I don't really like to eat them as much. I didn't get to make a garden this summer, because my family and I have been busy.. but maybe there is still time. The only thing I don't like about gardening is pulling weeds!

Day 306, Getting to know you #4

I almost died.

When I was about 6 or 7, I almost died. I was over at my friends house (Justin) who lives across the street from me. I'm sure you all are familiar with the candy "Life Savers".... I don't know if you guys remember the "Cream Savers" that they use to have. But we were eating some Cream Savers, and we also were jumping on the tramp.
(I know you can see it coming, but don't jump ahead)
Well... I was stupid, and started to jump on the tramp with a cream saver in my mouth. I remember I jumped up, and the cream saver went down. It got stuck on the way down, and I started to choke. It was so bad that I couldn't talk or breath! It was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me..(well back then)...
So I jumped off the tramp, and ran into the house. I remember my friend Justin and his mom yelling at me... "What's wrong Rob?"....."Are you ok?".... But I couldn't answer. I just ran into the house as fast as I could.. (which was also stupid, who runs when they can't breath?)
My plan was to run over to my house, and get to my mom. I knew my mom could fix it...HAHA... Anyway. Half way through their house I started to get dizzy, and I stopped, and threw up everywhere.. all over their carpet in their dinning room. It was finally out. But I just kept running to my house.
I was so terrified that I was going to die, and now I was terrified because I thought I was going to be in trouble since I threw up all over their carpet!!
But all was good, and  to this day, I'm still scared of eating life savers... or any other hard candy!!
Moral of the story, don't eat and jump!

Day 305, Getting to know you #3

I broke my arm

Here is day 3 of my getting to know you posts. I broke my right arm when I was in the 7th grade. I was riding my scooter down the street, and I hit a small bump and BAM.. it was broken. I don't really remember the pain that much, I just remember I was really scared! I was the first one out of all my siblings to have a broken bone! I got a cool green cast, and when I went to Disneyland, Mickey Mouse signed it! I thought it was the coolest thing that Mickey signed my cast.

Day 304, WE LOVE YOU SCOUT!

Today is the Birthday of my little puppy Scout who died last fall. Scout would have been a year old today. I miss her so much. She really was one of the best little dogs, even though I only had her for a few weeks. She was so cute! Sometimes I wonder what she would look and act like today. I bet she would be a very beautiful, playful, loyal brown lab.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOUT!!
WE MISS YOU!

Day 303, Getting to know you #2

Here is Day 2 of my getting to know you posts. It's hard to think about things to tell you! So what I'm about to tell you might be weird. This one may shock you..... don't judge me.... don't think I'm weird.... so here it goes.

I believe in Aliens.

Yeah, I know it's weird, and you are most likely thinking that I'm crazy. But it's true, I do believe in Aliens. Ok first off.. I don't believe they are little green things running around with one eye, eight arms, and wanting to take over the world. What I think is... there are other wolds out there in space. Space goes on and on for ever, and I just think that there is more life out there. It's hard for me to believe that earth is the only planet out of billions that has life on it. There could be life out there. I also think that they look like humans give or take a few things that might not be the same. So yes I do believe there are "Aliens" or other life forms out there in space. But I don't think they come to our planet in UFOs, that there skin is green, they read our minds, and beam us up to the space ships.
Just little worlds out in space just like Earth, with people on it living there lives just like us.

Day 302, Getting to know you...

Over the next week.... I don't have anything planned so... I'm just going to do some "Getting to know you" posts. On these post I will tell you more about myself. I will tell you about things I hate, love, want, or what ever I feel like telling you that day, and if I do something fun or exciting on one of the days I will also blog about that. So here goes day one....

I hate breakfast food.

I'm not the biggest fan of breakfast food. I gave this some thought, and I think I hate breakfast foods because I hate the mornings. I hate anything that has to do with the morning. I can't even eat breakfast food later in the day (except for bacon)...like at dinner and stuff... I usually skip breakfast. I know its bad to not eat breakfast, but it's so hard for me. I just don't want anything to do with it. I would rather eat pizza or hamburgers for breakfast. I could live without pancakes, waffles, and hash browns.... and my alarm clock... Ok, I could just live with out MORNINGS!

Day 301, Home, Sweet Home!

Once my family finally reached Salt Lake City, I realized how much I love Utah. Some people might say that it's not California... New York.... or Florida. But to me, its home. I wouldn't ask for a better place to live. I'm so happy and grateful to live in such a beautiful place. I know that I've always wanted to move to a cool city like Boston or something, but to be honest, I don't know if I could ever leave Utah. Maybe I can live in a different city for a year or two, but I want to spend the rest of my life here, and someday raise a family here. I love Utah so much, and I'm glad I'm home. :)

Day 300, On our way back to Utah.

We start our long trek back to Utah today. We went from Chicago to Lincoln Nebraska. It wasn't super long trip, but.... it was still driving. On the way to Lincoln, we stopped at Winter Quarters. Winter Quarters is in Omaha Nebraska. It's the place where the Moron pioneers stopped in the winter. It was really pretty there, and it was good to get out and stretch our legs. I just wish I got more pictures.

This is the Omaha temple in Winter quarters. It was built in 2002... it kinda reminds me of the Bountiful temple.

This tomb stone is the only remaining tomb stone from the actually pioneers. It belongs to Amy Porter... who I'm related too! It was awesome to see it!

Winter Quarters was a really great experience. They say that angels never leave winter quarters, that's why is so nice in peaceful there. If you ever get the chance to go there, I suggest you do.

ALSO, IT'S MY 300th DAY OF BLOGGING!! IT'S GONE BY SO FAST!! ONLY 65 DAYS LEFT!!

Day 299, Took a speed boat ride today...

Today, my brother and I went on a speed boat ride on Lake Michigan. We went in a boat that looks like the one in the picture, but ours was yellow not red. It was really fun, and we saw some great views of the city.

Here is me before the boat ride.

...and my brother before the boat ride.
So this guy, calls himself Limo Bob. Look at all his "Bling Bling" He said that all his necklaces were pure gold, and weighed about 30 lbs. He also said that each ring on his fingers were given to him by someone famous. Apparently he buys, makes, and sells Limos, and he is super rich. Also he and his family have their own reality TV show, and it's going to premiere in the fall.... that's right folks, we had a celebrity on the boat. Look for his TV show this fall, I know I will.

Here is the view of Chicago from the boat...

I got a little wet on the boat ride... look at my hair! Just wet on one side. HAHA..

So basically I want a boat now. It was so much fun, and our tour guide was so funny! This was my last day in Chicago, and all in all it has been fun. Chicago is really fun... but not as cool as Boston I must say, but it's been good. I'm so happy I was able to come to Chicago, I just love to travel...... I really don't want to start driving home tomorrow :P

Day 298, Sky deck, and the Disney store of Chicago.

One of the main things that the family and I wanted to do while in Chicago was to go to the top of the Willis tower (or as you may know it the "Sears Tower") and look down like on Ferris Bueller's Day off. So that's what we did this morning.

The Sears tower is tallest building in the United States, and the 5th tallest in the world. It was really cool to go and look down from the very top! But also... in a way... kinda scary.

Here's the view from the top of the building.

Here's Brian in the glass box that hang over the city.

And here is me in the glass box. It's so scary to be in that glass box that hangs over the city. All I could think about it... WHAT IF THE GLASS BREAKS!?!

I thought it would be funny if I got a picture of me looking out the window like they do on Ferris Beuller's Day off.... and it was funny. Right?

After we spent awhile at the top of the Sears tower, we walked around the city for awhile. I wanted to go to the Disney store, so we walked down there.. It was about a 3 mile walk. But it was fun, and we got to see pretty much all of Chicago while were were out...

Chicago river.

We saw street performers.

This is a water taxi, this is how people get around in Chicago.

Brian found a girl friend..... it didn't work out.

The Art Institute of Chicago.

We saw the train.

After a few hours and miles of walking, we finally found the Disney store, and I was in heaven. I bought a cool Chicago shirt there, and a graduation class of 2011 Mickey mouse. I love Disney stuff!!

This Snow White gave me nightmares...

Now of course if you are in Chicago, you need to have Chicago deep dish pizza. This pizza was really good, but I kinda wish we got a different kind. We got a sausage, green pepper, and mushroom pizza... when we should have gotten peperoni.... but it was still good. That's how you do pizza Chicago style!

Day 297, First day at Chicago.... Navy Pier

Today was our first day in Chicago. At first it seemed like it was going to be a bad day because it was poring rain outside. My mom, Brian, and I walked down this trail just outside our hotel. The trail was very nice, and it ran right against Lake Michigan. But while on our walk it started to rain, and rain hard! We got soaking wet. So that was a bad start to the day.

Here's pictures from the trail. Lake Michigan is huge!

This is what the city looked like from the trail.... long ways to walk if you ask me..

Navy Pier.

Once my dad got back from giving his talks and stuff (which is why we went to Chicago, is for my dads work) the week all got into the car to head down to a place called Navy Pier. Navy Pier is kinda like a mall that's a carnival. It has all these different gift shops, and restaurants, and it all has a ferris wheel, and other rides. We ate this really good Italian restaurant, and then after we watched the fireworks. They have fireworks every Wednesday and Saturday. So that was fun. I hope we get to go look around the city tomorrow.
